The Doyon Foundation was established as a separate nonprofit charitable organization in 1989 by Doyon, Limited. Doyon Foundation’s mission is to provide educational, career and cultural opportunities to enhance the identity and quality of life for Doyon shareholders.

To be eligible for a Doyon Foundation scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled to Doyon, Limited (the regional Alaska Native corporation for Interior Alaska, is a for-profit corporation headquartered in Fairbanks, Alaska, Doyon) or be the child of an original enrollee. If applicant is not an original enrollee, but is the child of an original shareholder, an original birth certificate is required for verification. Gifted or inherited shares do not qualify an individual for scholarship eligibility.
  • Be accepted to an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates, 3.0 for graduates or masters, and 3.25 for specialists or doctorates.
  • Be enrolled in 12 or more credits (undergraduates), or 9 or more credits (graduates) to be considered full-time students.
  • Be enrolled in 3 to 11 credits (undergraduates), or 2 to 8 credits (graduates) to be considered part-time students.
