AISES Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) Scholarship

Summary: 

AISES is pleased to offer a scholarship program in partnership with Society of Professional Engineering in Aerospace (SPEEA) for the 2022-2023 academic year. Indigenous students interested in an aerospace career pursing an associates, bachelors, or graduate degree in the state of Washington are welcome and encouraged to apply.Awards are $5,000 for the academic year with additional assistance available for students with dependent children.

Scholarship Amount

  • $5,000 per academic year for associates, undergraduate, and graduate students.
  • Students with dependent children will also receive preference and may be eligible for additional financial support for childcare via SPEEA-ACE program of up to $5,000.

Eligible Degrees

Pursing a degree in engineering or other high-demand degree that supports professional and technical careers in the aerospace industry.

Student Status

• Must be a full-time student enrolled in Washington State’s public higher education systems at the associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree level.

• Veterans and active-duty military spouses’ students will be offered preference.

Grade Point Average

Must have a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher cumulative GPA.

Tribal Citizenship

Applicants must be: an enrolled citizen or a descendant of an enrolled citizen of a federal or state-recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village; or Native Hawaiian or descendant from a Native Hawaiian; or Pacific Islander or descendant from Pacific Islander; or Indigenous person of Canada. Enrollment documents and/or a copy of birth certificate(s) showing descendancy from an enrolled citizen, Indigenous group of Canada, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander are acceptable. Applicant may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card. Please note, AISES may not always have scholarships available for non-citizens of the United States.
