Summary: 

Chevron Scholarships are awarded to American Indian, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, First Nations, and other indigenous peoples of North America who are students in higher education. The scholarship was developed by AISES and Chevron to support the advancement of students with technical and leadership accomplishments, as well as a commitment to and passion for the energy field.

Students must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited four-year college/university. See additional requirements below by level in school.
 
Grade Point Average 
Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA). 
 
Tribal Citizenship
Applicants must be: an enrolled citizen or a decedent of an enrolled citizen of a federal or state recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village; or Native Hawaiian or decedent from a Native Hawaiian; or Pacific Islander or decedent from Pacific Islander; or Indigenous person of Canada. Enrollment documents and/or a copy of birth certificate(s) showing descendancy from an enrolled citizen, Indigenous group of Canada, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander are acceptable. Applicant may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card. Please note, AISES may not always have scholarships available for non-citizens of the United States.     
 
AISES Membership
All scholarships require that applicants be current AISES members at the time of application. All applicants will be required to enter a valid AISES membership number. To get a membership number join AISES or retrieve your membership number through AISES Membership Portal.
 
AISES membership is now free for all pre-college and college students.
 
Additional Requirements 
Must demonstrate knowledge and interest in Chevron and energy industry through a scholarship-specific essay.
Must have received a minimum of 1 noteworthy achievement/recognition (i.e. Dean’s List, Scholarship, Honor/Award, etc.). 
 
Additional Consideration Will Be Made For Students Who Meet The Following Criteria
Freshman/Sophomores:
 
Related internship or non-technical work experience preferred, but not required
 
Juniors:
 
A minimum of 1 leadership role in AISES or other extra-curricular activity
A minimum of 1 technical internship related to field of study
Seniors:
 
A minimum of 1 leadership role in AISES or other extra-curricular activity
A minimum of 1 technical internship related to field of study
Graduating seniors must not have committed to an offer of employment with a company other than Chevron Corporation (pending offers do not apply)
Masters/PhDs:
 
A minimum of 1 technical internship related to field of study preferred
Thesis/Dissertation must be on a topic that is related to the energy industry
