Members of the Yale School of the Environment (YSE) community have easy access to a curated list of global, external funding opportunities for graduate students and postdocs using this new database.  The service is maintained by a collaboration among the School’s Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, Career and Professional Development (CPD), and Research.

The database contains detailed information on research grants, internship stipends, travel funds, tuition scholarships, and other awards of interest to members of the School’s community.  Opportunities and deadlines are updated frequently - please check back regularly.  We do our best to keep the content of the database current, but if you see an opportunity that appeals to you and whose deadline has passed, click the associated link to see if a new competition has been announced.

Natural Hazards Center - Wildfire Ready Quick Response Research and Data Publication

The Natural Hazards Center (NHC)—with support from the National Science Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Program Office in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS)—is issuing a special call for proposals for Wildfire Ready Quick Response Research and Data Publication in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences.

International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC)

The International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) funds several Merit Scholarships to support university, technical college, and other post-secondary education. The scholarship fund has been established to assist the further education of Canadian and U.S.A. students connected to the Pacific halibut fishery and its industry. Generally, a single new scholarship valued at US$4,000 per year is awarded every two years. The scholarships are renewable annually for the normal four-year period of undergraduate education, subject to maintenance of satisfactory academic performance. A selection panel of industry and Commission representatives reviews applications and determines recipients based on academic qualifications, career goals, and relationship to the Pacific halibut industry.

ExtremeTerrain Scholarship

ExtremeTerrain is offering two $2,500 scholarships, one for the fall semester and one for the spring Semester to eligible students pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Research, Land Use, Earth and Atmosphere Studies, Sustainable Land Management, Parks and Recreation, or Sustainable Agriculture Systems.

Joseph Zukin Jr. Educational Opportunity Scholarship

The Joseph Zukin Jr. Educational Opportunity Scholarship is presented to any graduate or undergraduate student whose academic record and community activities reflect the entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by Mr. Zukin in his lifetime.
